Dr. Amanda Alcamo
Dr. Amanda Alcamo was born and raised in St. Louis, MO. Growing up, she was always very active in sports and the arts and noticed that having regular chiropractic adjustments allowed her to perform at higher levels and avoid injuries.
When she was in her adolescent years she developed Scoliosis, which forced her to be put in a back brace 18+ hours/day for years. Unsuccessful due a 68 degree curvature in her spine, she underwent her first Spine Surgery which was 22 hours at the age of 16 in which they placed 2 Harrington Rods and over 40 screws in her spine. After a long recovery and intense therapy, she went onto college and played basketball at the collegiate level. She obtained a double Bachelor’s in Science in Biology and Broadcast Media Communications from Missouri Baptist University. While attending college, due to severe complications of her spine, she went on to having two additional spine surgeries which accumulated to 36 hours combined surgery time, and ended with the surgeons removing the hardware from her spine completely and leaving her with a completely fused spine from T3-L4 & a "wait & see method." After two more long recoveries, she began her Doctorate in Chiropractic at Logan University. Understanding pain herself, Dr. Amanda felt God had led her to a wonderful profession in which she could help multiple people get off medications and live a drug free/pain free life as well as focus on pediatrics to be proactive instead of reactive & do more spinal curve correction before it has the potential to progress into scoliosis & other functional/ structural abnormalities. Fun Fact: Out of the office, you can find Dr. A on the golf course, hiking her Golden-Doodle, Sonny, biking or traveling any chance she gets!
